Who are you and what do you do?
I am a retired teacher and coach. I taught business at Hermiston High School and coached wrestling and football. While I was teaching, I ran campus life for 33 years. Now I run Fellowship of Christian Athletes. It’s a nationwide organization. We do Hermiston, Umatilla, Irrigon and Stanfield, and we want to expand.
Where did you grow up? When did you come to Hermiston?
I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, in Los Altos. I went to college in Tacoma at Pacific Lutheran. I got the teaching/coaching job at Hermiston and moved here in 1980.
What are a few of your hobbies?
I like exercising and playing with my grandkids and doing youth ministry.
How do you spend your free time?
I don’t have much free time. I’m usually so busy doing youth ministry. That’s how I spend my free time. I go to games and take pictures.
How would you describe yourself?
Ordinary person who lives for an extraordinary cause.
What is something that you’re passionate about?
Jesus. Telling others about living for Jesus or trying to live for Jesus and telling others about Jesus.
What are a few of your proudest accomplishments?
Raising my two daughters. And getting Campus Life started. Being faithful to the lord and my family.
What do you like most about the community you live in?
The people are really friendly, and supportive, and caring and giving.
