UMATILLA — A sewer main near the intersection of Sixth and D streets in Umatilla recently collapsed.

According to a press release from the Umatilla Public Works Department, emergency repair work already has begun on the line across Sixth Street. The work is expected to take most of the week, and the community is asked to slow down and watch for workers and flaggers.

“Safety is the top priority, and the repair team is working diligently to complete the project as quickly as possible,” the release said. “We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding during this time.”
