Live: Premier League Matchday 38 Table Scenarios, Updates, Scores

Published 7:08 am Sunday, May 28, 2023

On Sunday, a long Premier League season, one interrupted by the drama of a winter World Cup, comes to an end.

Manchester City already has been crowned champion for the fifth time in six years after a strong push from Arsenal, which sat atop the Premier League table for much of the season before a late-season decline.

Even with the title decided, there are plenty of fireworks left for the grand finale, especially when it comes to the relegation race. Meanwhile, there is still a pecking order to be fought over when it comes to the top half of the table, with three teams battling for seventh place and a berth in the Europa Conference League qualifiers.

Top Four

Manchester City finished first, and Arsenal is guaranteed second place. A Manchester United win Thursday against Chelsea, which finishes outside of the top 10 for the first time since the 1995-96 season, guaranteed it a Champions League spot alongside Newcastle to fill out the top four.

Man United currently sits in third on 72 points, while Newcastle is guaranteed at least fourth on 70 points. Man United needs a win to seal third OR a draw and a Newcastle loss. To secure third, Newcastle needs a win and a Man United draw/loss.
