The foundation, a philanthropic organization affiliated with the Burger King brand, and HB Boys, LC, a local Burger King franchisee, gave Govea a $1,000 scholarship. The foundation’s mission is to help empower individuals by providing assistance through education and emergency relief.
A Burger King employee, Govea was featured in a Hermiston Herald story in December 2022. The young entrepreneur turned her passion for jewelry into a business with Simply Felicity Rings.
“We’re happy to be supporting and awarding scholarships through the Burger King Foundation,” Gary Moore, a local franchisee and owner of HB Boys, said. “It’s great to be able to award students in our communities and employees and see the impact we can make together.”
