PENDLETON — The first cycle of scholarships for the 2023-24 academic year has been announced by the Blue Mountain Community College Foundation.
A total of 76 students were awarded 90 foundation scholarships totaling $105,750, which help students cover tuition and educational expenses at BMCC. According to a press release from foundation executive director Ken Daniel, the awards are based on academic performance and need.
The second round of scholarships, which offers more than $134,000, will open on Sept. 1 and run through Oct 11. Any current or prospective student planning to attend BMCC during the 2023-24 academic year is encouraged to apply.
“We believe each student will advance at BMCC and go beyond,” Daniel said. “It is an honor for us to invest in these students along with the many others, including family, friends and educators, who have also supported them as they pursue their goals.”
The BMCC Foundation raises scholarship and emergency assistance funds each year to help ensure students have access to education as they pursue their careers.
