HERMISTON — Good Shepherd Health Care System announced that two urologists have joined Dr. Thomas Holt at the hospital’s urology clinic in Hermiston.

Dr. Jeffery La Rochelle and Dr. Eli Thompson each operated in Portland but cared for patients from Eastern Oregon, according to the announcement.

La Rochelle is a urologic oncologist with more than 20 years of experience. He has been caring for patients in Oregon since 2009 in his practice in Portland.

La Rochelle completed his medical doctorate from Rush Medical College in Chicago and his residency in urology from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Following his residency, La Rochelle completed a fellowship in urologic oncology at the University of California in Los Angeles. His areas of expertise include da Vinci Robotic Surgeries and urological oncology care.

As a urologic oncologist, La Rochelle has additional training and extensive experience managing cancers involving the urinary tract, according to the announcement.

Thompson moved to Portland three years ago. He obtained his medical doctorate from Keck School of Medicine at the University of California, followed by a general surgery internship at the University’s Department of General Surgery. Thompson completed his urology residency from the University of Southern California’s Institute of Urology.

Thompson has specialty training in advanced, open and minimally-invasive robotic surgeries and can help with all urological complaints, from cancer to benign enlargement of the prostate to difficulties with urination and kidney stones.

Holt said the clinic team is excited to onboard La Rochelle and Thompson as it continues to expand capabilities and further improve access to high-caliber urologic care in the region.

Good Shepherd’s urology team provides care for men and women with urinary tract problems and for select pediatric cases. It offers diagnosis and treatment options including nonsurgical treatment options, as well as surgery and robotic-assisted surgical care for conditions ranging from kidney stones and overactive bladder issues to infertility and cancer. The team provides advanced robotic and laparoscopic skills that allow for minimally-invasive care plans for patients including smaller incisions, improved infection control and a faster recovery after surgery.

Good Shepherd Urology Clinic is at 600 N.W. 11th St., Suite E10 in Hermiston. For more information, call 541-667-3825 or visit shorturl.at/cmyDT.
