In a press release, Tammy Wade, senior communications manager, reported that several community partners joined team members Sept. 13 for a special lunch to commemorate the milestone. She said during the feast, Lamb Weston personnel signed a commemorative banner that is on display inside the plant.
According to the release, the Boardman West facility opened in 1973 and is currently one of the largest employers in the Columbia Basin. Approximately 500 potato experts, Wade said, work from the Boardman location, including more than five dozen employees who have been at the plant for more than 20 years. She said the average tenure for all team members is nine years.
“The cornerstone of our success is the commitment of our team members and growers to work safely and produce quality french fries that people around the world love to eat,” Plant Manager Brian Jackson said in the release. “I am proud to lead this team, knowing that we are a staple in the Boardman community.”
