HERMISTON — Three Hermiston seniors finished their high school soccer careers with Mid-Columbia Conference honors.

Midfielders Dalia Cervantes and Andrea Sanchez earned second-team honors, while defender Lalia Mendez was an honorable mention selection.

“This senior class was incredibly vital to our success, not only this year, but many of them the last four,” Hermiston coach Omar Medina said. “We have 10 graduating, which is hard, but they definitely leave a legacy for the younger girls to continue building on.”

Sanchez had five goals and three assists on the year as the Bulldogs posted a 5-11 MCC record. Cervantes added one goal and one assist, while Mendez had two goals.

Hermiston qualified for the 3A District 8 tournament, but dropped a 6-0 game to University, and a 4-1 game to Southridge in a loser-out match.

Chiawana senior Isabella Hoag was named MCC player of the year, while Richland’s Justin Almquist was named coach of the year by his peers.
