Letter: Character doesn’t seem to matter anymore

In a letter to the Hermiston Herald, David Burns says you do not have to like Trump to vote for him. I totally agree.

I also believe that a person who supports Donald Trump has put character out of the equation when choosing a candidate. Donald is continuing to lie about the election being stolen. I believe it is continuing because people are still buying into it and sending him money.

I think a lot of them are older Americans, who are a bit old-fashioned and trust that their president wouldn’t lie to them. I certainly don’t blame those people because Donald is an excellent liar. He has been pulling the biggest con in the history of this country. The 2020 presidential election was not stolen. When he talks about witch hunts and election interference, that’s total garbage too.

Do you really think some prosecutor would attempt to indict a former president without a whole mountain of evidence? Donald is hoping to delay the trials until after the election so he can claim presidential immunity, all the while building up his campaign funds by taking advantage of good patriotic Americans with his lies and divisive rhetoric.

The truth is I should not be the one saying this. I believe it should be Republicans in the area who are either in office or running for office. I have contacted every one I know of with an email address that fits that description, and not one of them seems to want to speak the truth to their constituents. I believe that disgusts me even more than Donald Trump does!
