The librarians at the Hermiston Public Library go to work every day knowing they could be asked to go out to the front of the building to clean up human waste and other messes left by homeless people during the night.

My understanding is that the city of Hermiston has employees who clean up places that need to be cleaned but are not always available for the library problem. Why can’t they be put on speed dial to go to the library whenever they are needed there?

I hope we can find a way to take better care of our librarians, so they don’t have to do this anymore.
