Trader Joe’s is recalling another food item just a few weeks after it had just recalled one of its very popular frozen food items.
The retailer is recalling packages of Trader Joe’s 50% less salt Roasted & Salted Whole Cashews due to a potential to be contaminated by salmonella, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced on March 18. The FDA said that at least one recalled lot of the nuts tested positive for salmonella.
The packs were supplied to Trader Joe’s by Wenders LLC of Dublin, CA and is present in 16 states across the country including Arizona, California, Kansas, Nevada, Tennessee, and Texas.

The FDA said that no illnesses have been reported due to the product. But the FDA advises consumers to not eat any of the product and return it to Trader Joe’s to receive a full refund.
This is the second time this month that Trader Joe’s is recalling a food item after the company pulled nearly 62,000 pounds of Trader Joe’s Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings on March 2. That product was found to be potentially contaminated by “foreign materials, specifically hard plastic from a permanent marker” by the Food Safety and Inspection Service.

TheStreet reached out to the FDA for comment, but did not received a response in time for the story. FSIS responded to say that it be best to refer to any response from Trader Joe’s on the matter — though Trader Joe’s did not respond to our request comment in time for this story.
