Letter: Herefords are the answer

Hereford cattle were bred for their efficiency in turning grass into high-yield beef, with high protein levels and other essential nutrients. They are also hardy and resistant to disease.
An added plus is that Herefords control fuel for wildfires, thus mitigating the impact these fires have on global warming and the destruction of homes, other buildings, infrastructure, wildlife habitat, attendant erosion, damage to waterways and fisheries, and so forth.
A big plus in my book is their grazing helps expose rattlesnakes to birds of prey and absent-minded guys going for a hike, hopefully with a fishing pole in hand.
In other words, Herefords are livestock anyone concerned with the environment should celebrate. And they are not alone.
Arguably, Herefords do more to protect the environment than “climate alarmists,” and they are not known to say, “How dare you!”
Stewardship.
