Pickett Auction Service is hosting its annual Eastern Oregon Spring Farm & Equipment Auction on May 6. Consignments will be accepted at 78131, HWY 207, in Hermiston, across from RDO Equipment. The auction will be conducted online.

Pickett Auction Service is a longstanding business dating back to 1992. They hold auctions every six to eight weeks with great success. All staff aim to maintain a personal touch at the company’s core through every transaction.

“We understand that behind every piece of equipment, every vehicle and every farm implement lies a story and a life of hard work,” auction manager Colton Pickett said.

Pickett Auction Services’ decision to conduct the auction in Hermiston is rooted in the connections and newfound family ties within the vibrant community.

Eastern Oregon has a robust agricultural culture, farm and ranch operations and a community deeply invested in local development. The location presented itself as an ideal locale for expanding auction services.

“Recognizing the unique needs and busy schedules of local sellers, who are deeply engrossed in farm, ranch, and community activities, we saw an opportunity to offer a tailored service that bridges the gap between these dedicated sellers and a diverse pool of eager buyers,” Pickett said.

Pickett Auction Services had two goals when establishing a branch in the region. They wanted to provide a platform that caters specifically to the dynamic market of Eastern Oregon and facilitate a seamless auction process that benefits sellers and buyers.

“We just feel like this area has really friendly people and hardworking agricultural backbones; we really enjoy working with those types of people,” Pickett said. “ We realize spring is a busy time for many industries so we’re here to help; we’re connecting buyers and sellers together to make it smooth for both parties.”

The company has utilized the power of the Internet to open up the market to national and international buyers, making it more accessible and convenient for everyone involved in the auction.

Pickett Auction Service is currently still accepting consignments. They will accept a wide variety of farm equipment, including tractors, trailers, heavy equipment, implements, vehicles, UTVs, 4x4s and more. They will accept items until May 1 but encourage sellers to get their equipment in sooner for better advertising exposure.

Pickett Auctions is keeping true to being a family-owned and operated business. They are here to welcome business from anyone as a buyer or seller.
