Pacific Power Foundation announces grant recipients

The Pacific Power Foundation announced March 12, 2024, that the Hermiston-based nonprofit organization was among the 49 recipients of grants related to art and culture.
PORTLAND — The Pacific Power Foundation recently awarded 49 grants totaling more than $110,000 to organizations related to art and culture across Oregon, Washington and California, including three in Eastern Oregon. Local recipients and plans for the grant funding:
Arts Council of Pendleton: to provide more than 1,200 rural youths access to free arts education and experiences.
Inland Northwest Musicians: to take fully orchestrated classical concerts into Eastern Oregon communities free of charge.
Josephy Center for Arts and Culture: to prepare an exhibit about the first meetings of the Wal’wa-ma band of the Nez Perce Indians and white settlers.
“Local programs like these are fundamental to the vibrancy and resilience of the communities we serve, and they nourish and inspire all of us,” Lori Wyman, Pacific Power regional business manager, said in a press release. “We honor and appreciate these vitally important organizations.”
The Pacific Power Foundation is part of the PacifiCorp Foundation. Its mission is to support the growth and vitality of the communities it serves through charitable investments.
It offers four grant cycles per year — Arts/Culture, Education/STEM, Community Enhancement/Environmental Respect and Safety/Wellness — with individual awards typically ranging from $2,000 to $5,000 each.
