Blue Mountain Community College’s Hunter Greenup turns in the top bareback ride of the night at the Northwest Intercollegiate Rodeo Finals on April 27, 2024, at the Eastern Oregon Trade and Event Center, Hermiston. Greenup and eight more BMCC rodeo team members compete June 8-15 in in Casper, Wyoming, in the College National Finals Rodeo.

PENDLETON — Blue Mountain Community College Rodeo Boosters are riding high in the saddle after wrangling in a record-breaking $20,000 through its recent fundraising campaign.

According to a press release, support from the community surpassed the group’s 2024 fundraising goals. The money will be used to provide scholarships, empowering the student-athletes to excel beyond the rodeo arena.

“This year’s fundraising triumph reflects our community’s unwavering commitment,” Rebecca Manning, BMCC Rodeo Boosters president, said. “We are elated to offer substantial support to our talented rodeo athletes, enabling them to pursue their aspirations while proudly representing Blue Mountain Community College on a national platform.”
