Wednesday, May 22

7:30 a.m. A resident of South Main Street, Heppner, made a complaint about his neighbor’s dog barking all day.

7:34 a.m. Umatilla police received a report of a vehicle wreck at Switzler Avenue and Sixth Street. Police issued a citation.

10:26 a.m. A caller at the Umatilla River Bridge on Highway 730, Umatilla, reported the man who usually is fishing from a small aluminum boat was not visible and asked law enforcement to make a welfare check.

11:07 a.m. A caller at Bard Park, Stanfield, reported other juveniles were threatening him.

2:37 p.m. A Mazda that lost control during a hail storm on westbound Interstate 84 near milepost 165 at Boardman was one of several crashes that shut down the freeway for two hours. Oregon State Police reported the driver of the Mazda had the car on speed control as the hail storm began. She lost control of her car and spun out in the middle westbound lanes, and a Freightliner tractor-trailer then struck the Mazda. The Mazda driver had minor injuries but declined medical treatment. State police also cited her for careless driving.

4:11 p.m. A caller made a complaint about criminal mischief on Second Street in Umatilla. Police took a report.

4:42 p.m. A resident on Northwest Washington Avenue in Irrigon reported three horse were lose and in his backyard. The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office contacted the owner of the horses to retrieve them.

11:23 p.m. A woman told the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office she received threats with a gun from her ex, who also claimed he was watching her.

Thursday, May 23

4:09 a.m. A 911 caller reported flooding at Bensel Road and Highway 395 North in Hermiston.

Arrests, citations

May 22

Hermiston police arrested Joshua Lee Iles, 19, for three counts of second-degree criminal trespass, one count each of second-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree assault, resisting arrest and for violating probation.

Oregon State Police cited Alexander Colt McQuin, 55, of Hermiston, for driving under the influence of intoxicants (controlled substance) and speeding (going 81 mph in a 55 mph zone).

May 23

Umatilla police arrested Nicholas L. Titus, 23, for two counts of second-degree assault.
