- Members of the PNW Jeep Girl Tribe cruise through the Umatilla Landing Days parade on June 24, 2023, on Sixth Street, Umatilla. This year’s free festival is June 21-22, 2024, at the Umatilla Marina & RV Park.
UMATILLA — Music will take center stage during both evenings at Umatilla Landing Days this weekend at the Umatilla Marina & RV Park, 1710 Quincy Ave. Festival admission and parking are free.
The two-day event begins Friday, June 21 at 5 p.m. with food vendors and park activities. Local trio Estilo Diferente — meaning different style — will perform a variety of music, including norteno, corridos and romanticas, at 7 p.m.; followed by Milonga, a Spokane-based group that has been referred to as the hottest Latin band in the Pacific Northwest.
A full day of events is planned on Saturday, June 22, beginning with a parade at 10 a.m. on Sixth Street. Then, the celebration moves to the marina park at 11 a.m. with craft and novelty booths, boat rides, food vendors, live entertainment and children’s activities.
The event also includes a salsa contest, the PNW Jeep Girl Tribe and the Landing Days Marina Motors Car Show. Registration for the car show is $15 (onsite registration and setup begin at 8 a.m.) and features class trophies and a raffle.
The Saturday night headliner features Steven Adler, a founding member of Guns N’ Roses. In addition to playing drums, Adler co-wrote such hits as “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” “Welcome to the Jungle” and “Paradise City.”
Local fan favorites Blue Tattoo, a high-energy rock group, will crank up the evening music at 4 p.m. Not.GreenDay, a tribute band, will perform pop-punk hits from Green Day’s decades-long catalog. Adler will rock the stage at 8:30 p.m., followed by fireworks over the Columbia River at dusk.
