Don’t miss out on the excitement during the Umatilla County Fair Kick-Off Parade. The event is Aug. 3, 6:30 p.m., in Hermiston. The first 125 entries will be accepted. The registration deadline is July 15.

In addition to the sweepstakes award, blue ribbons will be awarded in each judged division. In addition, a special award will be presented to the best representation of the 2024 fair theme, “A Blue Ribbon Future.”

There are still a couple of opportunities to catch “The Petticoat Rebellion.” The production highlights the historic event in 1916 when a secret election campaign in the city of Umatilla resulted in all women being voted into open municipal positions.

Presented by College Community Theatre, the final evening performance is Friday, June 21, 7 p.m. in Pioneer Hall at Blue Mountain Community College, 2411 NW Carden Ave., Pendleton. Matinee shows are Saturday and Sunday, June 22-23, at 2 p.m.

An Eastern Washington group will share their love of traditional Irish tunes, ballads and drinking songs during Music in the Parks in Morrow County.
