Letter: Count me in as a nonaffiliated voter

A letter to editor (“Who are you afraid to resist?”) in the Aug. 28 East Oregonian exemplifies the follies of gross generalization.
I am a nonaffiliated voter — NAV. No, I am not “lazy.” I made a deliberate choice to be a NAV. Perceived as a strong voting bloc, Democrat and Republican candidates study and modify their own platforms and policies to please the NAVs to win their votes, all for the betterment of our country, the USA.
I take pride in being a possible NAV’s poster child for the USA’s freedom—the reedom to choose, in particular.
Parties have become moot. Why do you have (Republicans in Name Only)? Why are Republican candidates running as write-in Democrats on the 2024 general election ballot?
Membership in a party has become a farce.
I am a proud NAV.
