Good Shepherd presents annual health and fitness event

HERMISTON — Free giveaways, health screenings and raffle prizes are featured during Family Health & Fitness Day.

Presented by Good Shepherd Health Care System, the free event is Saturday, Sept. 21, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hermiston High School, 600 S. First St. A 5K fun run starts at 10 a.m. In addition, several food trucks will be onsite.

Also, the popular Teddy Bear Clinic returns, offering youngsters an experiential activity designed to help reduce fears and anxiety about going to the hospital. And each participant will receive a free teddy bear to take home with them.

Community and vendor booths include a variety of health and fitness information, as well as car seat checks and bicycle helmet/life jacket fittings. Also, DaVinci Surgical System demonstrations will show how robotic surgery is utilized at Good Shepherd.
