Good Shepherd welcomes orthopedic surgeon

HERMISTON — Good Shepherd Health Care System in Hermiston on Tuesday, Oct. 8, announced the arrival of orthopedic surgeon Zhiqing Xing.
Xing comes to Good Shepherd from Trios Health in Kennewick.
GSHCS President & CEO Art Mathisen in the press release said Xing’s experience and skill set complements the hospital’s other accomplished orthopedic surgeons well.
Dr. Xing is a dedicated orthopedist trained in robotic surgery that will make a positive impact to the health and well-being of our region,” Mathisen said.
“My philosophy of care is treating each of my patients as a person, not simply a disease to be treated,” Xing said in the press release. “I listen to the patient to understand his or her concerns and needs before recommending an individualized treatment plan in the best interest of the patient.”
Xing brings nearly 15 years of experience and specializes in adult reconstruction (hip/knee/shoulder joint replacement surgery), orthopedic trauma and musculoskeletal oncology, treatment of hip, knee or shoulder arthritis, bone fractures, fracture malunion or nonunion, as well as bone and soft tissue tumors.
He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a teaching faculty member of AOTrauma North America. He received his medical degree from Peking University Health Science Center (previous name: Beijing Medical University), the most prestigious and comprehensive medical school in China.
He has been a faculty member of orthopedic surgery at the University of South Alabama and had practiced in the Gulf Coast area for more than seven years before he moved to Tacoma, Washington for more than three years. He then practiced at Trios Health in Kennewick for two years prior to joining Good Shepherd.
