Hermiston man dies in crash on Highway 395

HERMISTON — Oregon State Police reported a Hermiston man died Tuesday, Feb. 11, following a three-vehicle crash.
OSP on Tuesday at 2:22 p.m. responded to a crash on Highway 395 near Hermiston. According to OSP, Hector Singleterry, 62, on Tuesday was driving a black Ford Ranger south near mile point 3.5 when it gradually crossed the special turn lane into the northbound travel lanes. The vehicle crossed both northbound lanes and went off the highway, colliding with a parked unoccupied white Chevrolet Express van. The van then struck a parked white Chevroley Cobalt with two occupants.
OSP reported Singleterry may have suffered a medical emergency. CPR was attempted without success. He died at the scene.
The occupants of the Cobalt were not injured.
The on-scene investigation did not affect traffic on the highway, according to OSP. The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office, Umatilla County Fire District No. 1 and the Oregon Department of Transportation also responded to the crash.
