IRRIGON — Using music to preach the gospel, Jaime Jorge will present a local concert as part of his “Here I Am to Worship” tour. The free performance is Sunday, March 30, 4 p.m. at the Irrigon Seventh-day Adventist Church, 205 Tumbleweed Blvd.

Jorge was born in Cuba and started playing the violin at age 5. When he was 10 years old, his family immigrated to the United States.

According to his biography, Jorge’s mother wanted him to be a violinist but he dreamed of becoming a missionary doctor. After his undergraduate studies in pre-med, he was accepted into the University of Illinois Medical School. However, during his second year, he left medical school to embark on a life of service in music ministry.

For more than two decades, he has performed across the globe. In addition, he has released 15 albums.
