BMCC hosts career fair

PENDLETON — Explore career paths, apply for jobs and internships, and connect with regional employers representing industries from healthcare and education to transportation and technology during a free event at Blue Mountain Community College.

The Career Fair is open to students, job seekers and community members on Wednesday, April 30, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the college’s Pendleton campus, 2411 NW Carden Ave. Attendees are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes and dress to impress.

Participating employers include the Oregon Department of Human Services, Verizon – Cellular Plus, Kenworth Sales Co, Horizon Project, Inc., Domestic Violence Services, Express Employment Professionals, Newly Weds Foods, LLC, Umatilla Morrow Head Start, Pendleton Parks and Recreation, Oregon Department of Transportation, Eastern Oregon Workforce Board, Oregon Department of Corrections and Oregon Department of Forestry.

“Our goal is to help students and local residents take that next step in their professional journey,” said Laura Herbes, vocational rehabilitation career coach, said. “Whether you’re ready to enter the workforce or just starting to explore your options, the Career Fair is a great place to start building those connections.”
