Pony rides, a petting zoo, games, prizes, ice cream and entertainment are planned during Kiwanis Kids Day.
The family event is Saturday, Sept. 17, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Butte Park, 1425 N.W. Seventh St. There is no admission charge.

Join the huddle as coach David Faaeteete talks about the Hermiston Bulldogs‘ recent game during the Hermiston Linebacker Club. The no-host luncheon is Thursday, Sept. 15, noon at Desert Lanes Family Fun Center, 1545 N. First St.
Also, Faaeteete will share the game plan as the Dawgs prepare to take on the Walla Walla Blue Devils on Friday, Sept. 16, 7 p.m. at Kennison Field in Hermiston.

If you haven’t already done so, be sure to mark your calendars for Family Health & Fitness Day. Presented by Good Shepherd Health Care System, the free event is Sept. 24, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.at Hermiston High School, 600 S. First St.
It features family fun and education, including the Teddy Bear Clinic, cooking workshops, bicycle helmet fittings, community health resources and door prizes.

Start stretching and get prepared for a chance to win the Golden Fleet of Foot award. The Hermiston Education Foundation Fun Run is Oct. 1, with registration at 8 a.m. at the Hermiston Church of the Nazarene, 1520 W. Orchard Ave. The race starts at 9 a.m.

This year’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month fundraiser will feature a virtual silent auction and raffle. While the event doesn’t go live until Oct. 27, organizers are seeking donations for the event.
Serving Umatilla and Morrow counties for more than 40 years, Domestic Violence Services operates emergency shelters in Hermiston and Pendleton, as well as advocacy centers in both towns. It focuses on providing assistance to all victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence and stalking.
