Who are you and what do you do?

I’m Marisa Mendoza Avila, proud business owner of Balloons By Emily.

Where did you grow up? When did you come to Hermiston?

I was born and raised in Hermiston.

What are a few of your hobbies?

Disconnecting from daily life while off-roading with family and friends.

How do you spend your free time?

Family time. Family is everything.

How would you describe yourself?

A high energy individual that values family, work, business and blessings from above.

What is something that you’re passionate about?

“Doing what makes you happy.” I’ve always strived for this, but even more so after recent losses. Life is so short, I strive to make the best of it.

What are a few of your proudest accomplishments?

My business, Balloons by Emily. It started as a hobby and it quickly blossomed into a business. The joy I bring to others through my work is so fulfilling and addicting. I’m truly blessed.

What do you like most about the community you live in?

The support in my growth. I’ve been passionate about supporting other small businesses, and we truly live in a community that mirrors just that.
