The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office will have extra patrols on the road to help people slow down during March 2024.

MILTON-FREEWATER — The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a body found in Milton-Freewater.

The sheriff’s office in a statement Thursday, Aug. 10, reported the body of a woman was found the afternoon of Aug. 9 at a residence off Highway 332 outside Milton-Freewater. The sheriff’s office in cooperation with the Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office is conducting a death investigation.

The sheriff’s office reported it previously received a welfare request and a report of a missing person from the residence. The circumstances of the death are considered suspicious.

No further information will be released at this time, according to the sheriff’s office, as the investigation is ongoing.
