Education foundation awards $20K to HHS seniors

HERMISTON — The Hermiston Education Foundation recently announced eight $2,500 scholarships for graduating Hermiston High School students.

Recipients were selected based on academic achievement and financial need, as well as leadership and community service activities in their school and community.

Students receiving the honor and their planned fields of study:

Elizabeth Doherty, ophthalmology or oncology; Seven Bahr, computer science; Hailey Gardner, mechanical engineering; Renna Gorham, exercise science/kinesiology; Adrianna Coleman, business administration/marketing; Kamryn Boston, elementary education; Lydia Vander Stelt, nursing; and Tullulah Cubbage-Thorp, elementary education.

The mission of the Hermiston Education Foundation is to encourage lifelong academic, artistic and cultural learning experiences and opportunities for Hermiston School District students and educators through community support. The foundation grants funding to provide students with the tools and knowledge to build new ideas and excitement for learning.
