BOARDMAN — The Oregon Air National Guard 142nd Civil Engineer Squadron from Portland will conduct demolition training Saturday, May 6, at the Naval Weapons System Training Facility Boardman.

The facility, informally called the Boardman Bombing Range, is a military installation south of Boardman that Naval Air Station Whidbey Island uses training grounds.

All activities will occur during daylight hours in the central section of the NWSTF property, according to a notice from the Navy. Dust clouds, smoke audible detonations and ground vibration may result from this operation. Safety precautions and fire mitigations are in place to ensure operations pose no threat to people or property.
