HERMISTON — The Oregon Department of Transportation maintenance crews soon will perform pavement patching along Highway 207 and Southwest 11th Street in Hermiston.

ODOT announced the work is set for Monday, May 22, and will take place between Highland Avenue and the northeast corner of the Chateaubri Manufactured Home Community. The road repair work will take about a day to complete.

The work will start at the south side of the intersection of West Highland Avenue and Southwest 11th Street and extend south for about 650 feet. Sections of both the northbound and southbound lanes will receive the pavement repairs. The work is necessary to help extend the useful life of the existing pavement, which is cracked and showing signs of deterioration.

ODOT encouraged drivers to use alternate routes and plan extra time for expected delays.

Flaggers will control the intersection and the traffic signal will be turned off during the operation. The southbound lane will be closed for a short time to allow the asphalt patches to cool before opening it to traffic.Drivers can expect delays of up to 20 minutes during the operation.
