Who are you and what do you do?

I am Paulette Dufloth and my husband is Daren Dufloth, and we own the The Bridge Bistro and Brews in Umatilla.

Where did you grow up? When did you come to Umatilla?

I am from Canada, from a little province called Prince Edward Island on the East Coast. And via Nashville, via Vegas, with my husband we then settled here in Umatilla, raising our kids.

What are a few of your hobbies?

My husband and I actually played music on the road which is how we met. I’m a musician, singer, for the most part that’s my biggest passion outside of work. And spending time with my family.

How do you spend your free time?

Honestly my free time is with me, my husband and my family. I am so busy that nothing else in my life matters other than just being around my kids.

How would you describe yourself?

I’m a huge, huge social person I think that’s just me and my personality I love being around people, which lends itself to huge pride in customer service. I am pretty loyal to my friends and family.

What is something that you’re passionate about?

Honestly, I would have to say music. Other than family. It just takes me back to where I come from, where I learnt how to love music and what it does for my soul.

What are a few of your proudest accomplishments?

Primarily my family, I’m really proud of my kids and the life they’ve created for themselves. Where my husband and I have come from, playing music on the road to owning a successful business after COVID. Just because we started it from the ground up/rebranding and developing a new business under the circumstances of COVID and being successful. I’m really proud of what we’ve built together.

What do you like most about the community you live in?

You know it reminds me a lot of where I grew up. I mean 25 years later when you know you’re in a town different from where you grew up. You have neighbors watching out for each other. It reminds me of home. I lived in a very small town, and the sense of community and the sense of family. You’re driving by and you are waving at the car driving by because you know who it is. Biggest plus of owning a business and rebranding is we’ve had to reach out to all the resources, and we’ve just developed some really great friendships through that.
