Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Bailey Watson and I am a first grade teacher at Highland Hills Elementary School.

Where did you grow up? When did you come to Stanfield?

I was born and raised in Stanfield.

What are a few of your hobbies?

Being active whether that is working out at the gym, snowboarding, running, kayaking or doing Spartans!

How do you spend your free time?

I spend most of my free time with my family and I’m in the middle of getting my master’s degree in teaching, so a lot of my time is spent doing my master’s.

How would you describe yourself?

I would describe myself as a hardworking, kind, happy and pretty positive person. I’m usually always smiling and making people laugh.

What is something that you’re passionate about?

Something that I am passionate about is teaching and my “kids”. (I call my students my kids because they truly do mean more to me than just a “student”). Being a first grade teacher, I make it very important to show my kids in my room that they are loved and I preach every day to them about kindness and how important it is.

What are a few of your proudest accomplishments?

One of my proudest accomplishments would be as a first generation college student, I was granted the Pathway scholarship and was granted a full ride to my dream school, University of Oregon. This was huge for me because I come from a small town and I was able to pay for college on my own.

What do you like most about the community you live in?

Growing up in Stanfield, I really grew an appreciation for how supportive everyone is, whether it being a big achievement or when something tragic happens in our community as well. The community always comes together and is a supportive little town.
