GOBHI offers behavioral health scholarships at BMCC, TVCC for 2024-25

- The Blue Mountain Community College graduating class celebrates at the end of their commencement ceremony on June 12, 2024, at the Pendleton Convention Center. Greater Oregon Behavioral Health Inc. is offering scholarships to students studying in the behavioral health field at Blue Mountain and Treasure Valley community colleges for the 2024-25 academic year.
THE DALLES — Greater Oregon Behavioral Health Inc. announced the launch of 2024-25 scholarship programs at Blue Mountain and Treasure Valley community colleges.
According to a press release, the scholarships will provide incentives and financial support to students seeking careers in the behavioral health field. The following scholarships are available:
- Blue Mountain Community College: four $2,500 scholarships for students enrolled in Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer or Associate of General Studies programs studying psychology, anthropology or sociology. For more information, email Elizabeth Corbett at ecorbett@bmcc.edu.
- Treasure Valley Community College: four $2,500 scholarships for students who are pursuing a degree in addiction studies. For more information, email Cathy Yasuda at cyasuda@tvcc.cc.
GOBHI’s goal is to develop more behavioral health professionals in response to the shortage in rural and frontier communities. In 2024, GOBHI created a Workforce Development Endowment to fund future programming, career and educational opportunities.
