Ione Fourth of July Celebration, all day beginning at 7 a.m. at Ione City Park. 7-10 a.m., fireman’s breakfast; 8 a.m., 5K run/walk; 11 a.m., fish pond; noon, pie sale; 1 p.m., parade and Blues Cruise; 2:30 p.m., talent show; 4 p.m., music, including John Lee Hooker Jr., Ione All Stars, JR Sims & Texas Special, Baseline. Other events include frog jumping, straw money pile, dunk tank, pie throwing, ducky races, raffle, horseshoes, volleyball and free swimming.

After parade until evening, food and vendor booths, talent show, kids games and fireworks at Boardman Marina Park.

Milton-Freewater Fourth of July Social in the Park, 5 p.m. at Yantis Park. Entertainment by Coyote Joe and friends, games, including a cake walk, volleyball, sack race, egg toss, scavenger hunt, pinochle and water balloon fight. Hot dogs and hamburgers available for a fee.
