Eagles start season ranked No. 1

The Eastern Washington Eagles are picking up where
they left off last season after winning the NCAA Division I
Football Championship Subdivisionn in 2010-11.
Eastern, led by quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell, was
tabbed as the top squad in the nation in The Sports
Network/Fathead.com FCS preseason poll. The Eagles garnered 90
first-place votes and 3,377 points overall to stay in front of No.
2 Appalachian State. William and Mary is ranked third, followed by
Georgia Southern and Delaware to round out the top five.
Big Sky Conference rival Montana State is ranked
sixth to begin the season.
Cody Humphrey, a 2009 graduate of Hermiston High
School, is in his third year with the program. He redshirted his
first year in 2009 and was a non-letter winning team member last
season. He was named the offensive scout team player of the week
once last year as an offensive lineman.
This season, hes listed as a backup at left
offensive tackle on the depth chart. He is an applied developmental
psychology major.
The Eagles went 13-2 last year and defeated Delaware,
20-19, in the NCAA FCS title game.
