Mike Mathisen, the food services manager at the state prison in Umatilla, is under investigation. He has been on paid leave since May 27.

Since March 24, 2008, Mathisen, 43, has been manager at Two Rivers Correctional Institution.

According to the East Oregonian, while on leave, Mathisen will receive state pay of $4,904 a month.

The Oregon Department of Corrections Officials, and Mathisen himself, are refusing to say much more about the situation.

Vicki Reynolds, the prisons public information officer, said Mathisen was duty stationed at home, according to the East Oregonian.

Put simply, Mathisen is on administrative leave.

The prisons human resources director, Sue Washburn, also declined to speak on the subject.
