Catherine LaRee (Diggins) Diskin, 51, formerly of Hermiston, died Sept. 26, 2008, at her home in Chatham, N.Y., after a two-year battle with brain cancer.

Mrs. Diskin was born Jan. 24, 1957, in La Grande to Norman and Janice Diggins.

The family has scheduled a celebration of life at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Echo Community Church, 21 N. Bonanza St. Disposition was by cremation.

Survivors include her husband, Mark Diskin of Chatham, N.Y.; two daughters, Elizabeth Diskin and Stephanie Diskin or New York; a son, Adam Murphy and daughter-in-law, Prissilla of Fife, Wash.; parents, Norman Diggins of Camas, Wash.; Janice Diggins of Echo; two brothers, Michael Diggins and his wife, Diane, of Yelm, Wash., and Lonnie Diggins and his wife, Danielle of Salem; a sister, Crystal Wright of Hermiston; her grandmother, Esther Doutre-McJunkin of Echo; two grandchildren and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ruth (Diggins) Olsen, and both grandfathers, Glen Diggins and Elmer Doutre.
