Hermiston Fire & Emergency Services personnel extricate Jacelyn Lynne Black, 36, Hermiston, from a silver Honda Civic involved in a wreck with a maroon Toyota Scion at the intersection of Highway 395 and Baggett Lane north of Hermiston Oct. 19. Black was transported to a hospital but died Oct. 25. The driver of the Civic, Jami Lynne Masters, 52, Boardman, remains in serious condition at Kadlec Regional Medical Center after being transported there by air ambulance. The driver of the Scion, Elizabeth Cervantes, 22, Hermiston, was transported by ground ambulance to Good Shepherd Medical Center.

Three people were taken to the hospital, including one by Life Flight helicopter, following a two-vehicle wreck in Hermiston on Monday afternoon.

Oregon State Police trooper Jerrad Little said first responders were dispatched to the scene of a wreck at Highway 395 and Baggett Lane north of Hermiston at about 3:50 p.m.

He said witnesses reported a silver Honda car was waiting in the turn lane northbound on Highway 395 and then turned left and was struck by a maroon Scion traveling southbound on the highway. Both vehicles came to rest near Baggett Lane.

Hermiston Fire & Emergency Services personnel responded and removed the doors of the Honda to extricate the driver and one passenger. Little said the driver was transported via air ambulance to an unknown hospital. The passenger was transported by ground ambulance to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston, he said, as was the driver of the Scion.

Little did not identify the names or ages of the vehicle occupants before they were transported from the scene, but all three occupants were women.

There was no indication that intoxication contributed to the crash, he said, and no charges were filed at the scene. He said, however, the investigation is ongoing.
